Your worry is genuine if the chq is delivered by ordinary post as was the case a year or two ago. Since Google started delivering through BlueDart, the chq is always delivered safely though it is taking longer time to arrive.
Previously, the chq arrived on or before of 5th of the month but now I get it as late as 8th or 9th.
However, I never worried because, I can always track the courier consignment online. You too can.
When you click on the 'last issued AdSense payment' in your Google AdSense page, you will see details as given below.
The first arrow points to the payment reference number. The second arrow points to the BlueDart tracking number.
To track the courier consignment, go to
http://www.bluedart.com/maintracking.html
Please click on the 'Ref no' as shown above and enter your payment reference number that is mentioned in the 'last payment details' page in your Google AdSense account.
Click 'Go' and you would see where your chq is at present.
